Talent / Achievements

You must have demonstrable talent and achievements in the relevant sector and  be nominated by an eligible nominator who must attest to the applicant’s achievements and international standing in relation to their field and this may include:

Must demonstrate:

  • International talent and​ achievements.
  • Current  prominence in their field of expertise.
  • Applicant would be an asset to Australia
  • Evidence of employment or potential of employability in their field.
  • Be nominated by an eligible individual or organisation

Not limited to but includes:

  • Senior roles, Patents, Professional awards International publications and Memberships.
  • Places are also available to PhD graduates who can prove exceptional talent and international recognition in a target sector.

Note:

Nomination for the purposes of the Global Talent Visa is not a financial commitment. Essentially, the Nominator must attest to the applicant’s achievements and international standing in relation to their field, value to the Australian community and capacity to gain employment in their field.

Candidates should have the ability to attract a salary at or above the Fair Work high income threshold of AUD158,500. This figure is adjusted annually on 1 July. Special consideration is give to recent PhD graduates (i.e. Starting salary)

GTI Visa Benefits

What is the Process?

The GTI Subclass 858 visa requires a 2 step process:

  1. Expression of Interest (EOI)

This is a critical gateway that determines if applicants gain an invitation to apply for the subclass 858 Visa.

2. Visa Application

Those who are successful at the EOI stage receive an invitation to apply for the subclass visa 858 and are allocated a Unique Identifier Number.

What is the cost?

Government (DOHA) fees: (AUD)

  • Primary applicant-        4,180
  • Spouse/Partner-           4,190
  • Children over 18-          4,190
  • Children under 18-       1,045
  • Credit/Debit Card         1.50% (payment surcharge)

Licensed Agents – Advisory and Lodgement Fees:  Fixed price fee quoted on a case by case basis with sensitivity to individual case complexity.

Definition of a Nominator

Nomination definition:

  • Australian citizen, resident, eligible New Zealand citizen* or an Australian organisation with a national reputation in the same field as the applicant.

Skills Assessment required?

No, there the GTI visa subclass 858 does not require skills assessment

Is a points test required?

No, point score does not apply for the GTI 858 visa

Does English language competency apply?

No… but if you have English competency standard of “Functional English” equivalent to IELTS total score of 4.5 if you or a family member  do not have the required standard you will need to pay an additional fee for each  family member.

GTI visa a permanent?

Yes! the Global Talent subclass visa 858 starts out as a Permanent Residency (PR) visa.
